comp cams hi-tech lite htl lifters

i got this from comp cams web site. can someone tell me what their talking about when they say "No chamfer at bottom of lifter to ensure maximum effect diameter-requires special work by engine builder"? what kind of special work?

Hi-Tech Lite HTL

PART NUMBER 807-16

-Specifically designed for racing applications requiring solid lifter cams.

- Approx. 20 grams lighter than conventional solid lifters.

-Manufacturing tolerances held much tighter to ensure consistent diameter as well as optimum radius on the bottom of the lifter.

-Improved pushrod seat specifically designed for the excessive pressures of race application.

-No chamfer at bottom of lifter to ensure maximum effect diameter-requires special work by engine builder.

-For .842" diameter tappet racing engines.

-Tests prove 100 rpm increase in maximum engine speed.

Packaged in special protective plastic lifter case.
