compatible "53" chevy wheels.

I would like to know if someone can recommend compatible Chevy wheels, either steel or aluminum alloy for my "53" Chevy. These need not be speed or souped up wheels.

As a Moderator here.....I would like to WELCOME YOU HERE....

Most any General motors rim with the 4.75 wheel pattern ( common Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick and Olds patterns ) would fit.

Most were 15 inch until 1957 when the 14 inch became common. In the 60's, some started coming with 15's again.

Wheels can make or break a car...appearance wise........and set the style and era of the vehicle.

I like the American 5 spokes on early Chevrolets myself......just my taste.....

Backspacing...

My only suggestion is to make sure that you keep the backspacing in mind when you start looking for wheels. I had a brain fart when I bought the wheels for my 53 Chevy truck and now I'm stuck with them for a while...running with those evil spacers on it....I know I know...spacers are bad...but I can't afford new wheels and tires right now. I have other problems to deal with... as per my project journal.

Good luck on the wheels though. Post some pictures so we can see what you start with and what you decide on.
