Is the lobe separation the only thing that gives you the
cam sound? A buddy has a Lunati cam with a 108 deg lobe sep
at that thing sounds pretty beefy plus it goes like a bat out of hell.
I was this CompCam I list, but don't want to be disappointed with the
sound of it. I have a std trans so vacum is no issue. This LS6 cam says
it has a 112 lobe sep with different intakes/exhausts dura and lifts.
Is this a good one for my 427?

That comp Nistalgia cam #11-670-4 is a hyd cam and is a good bit milder
Less duration than the origional GM 427-425hp L-78 454-450hp LS6cam.
The origional GM cam had 284-284 @.020" 242-242@.050" and .520-.520" lift 114LSA

The idle sound is a combination of the duration and overlap and LSA.
Your BBC will make more power with a solid lifter cam like the origional GM LS6 (a very sweet street cam) or Comps
"Magnum Muscle" replacement. Comp #11-551-5. If you want the "real deal" sound of the origional LS6 and improved power over and above the GM LS6 cam then this comp 11-551-5 cam is the one you want. The 11-670-4 is not even close.
A hyd cam will not sound the same or make the same power as a solid lifter cam at idle or under power. real high performance BBC's use a mechanical camshaft. This cam will ahve the sound and performance you are looking for.
