Completely pointless

My distributor, that is. I have been running points for the past few years, and haven't had any trouble with them. That being said, I wanted to change to electronic. But, I wanted GM dependability and availability. No MSD, pertronics or unilite. Problem is the HEI wont clear the firewall. New small cap HEIs from china are out of the question. So I built my own. I started with a points and an HEI and stripped both down. This included removing everything off the shafts as well. Then taking the necessary HEI parts and reinstalling on the points distributor.

Once everything is mocked into place the rotor needs to be phased. Tack weld in place and final weld.

This gives you HEI reliability with no firewall issues. And the module is easy to replace if the need arises.

Yes, runs great. Module is mounted to a heat sink with the thermal paste to keep it cool.
