Compressor oil?

I ws given an old 2 cylinder air compressor, once I cleaned it up it works fine but the oil in it has to be a hundred years old. So is it just motor oil in there?

Thanks for the info. The compressor has no markings on it so I don't know how much air it puts out but I have an old tank and figure it's worth trying.
Is there any way to determin the air output short of measuring the cylinder volumn?
