Compressors

Im starting to get tools together now so i can start restoring my vehicles this summer and im having trouble finding a reasonably priced compressor for my future needs. I want to get a HVLP paint gun and it uses 12.5-16.0 CFM @ 30 PSI. does anyone have any suggestions for a compressor that would support a little more CFM then that?

U.S General from Harbor Freight. No it is not a Chinese compressor like a lot of the common names you will hear (Cambell Hausfeld, Ingersol Rand ect.) Probably the best buy going in an American/Italian made compressor of that size.

I have got to agree, the US General has got to be the most "bang-for-the-buck" deal out there and the more we hear about it the better it seems. For the specs you mention you will need the large two stage model which comes on sale quite often but I am not sure if there is a sale coupon available that can be used with air compressors, there has been some recent discussion here about that. Even at it's regular price it's a far better deal than some out there and don't let the fact it is sold at HF scare you off, this thing is developing a really good reputation for both performance and dependability.

I simply can't understand why HF does not make better known the fact that those things are USA built?

I guess they just have a reputation to protect and they don't want to spoil it by selling well built goods.

Just make sure you get the U.S. General brand, as their other compressors are Chinese.
