Post computer advance or vacuum advance??

my camaro has a computer advanced distributor in it. the distributor is the only thing that is hooked up to the computer. i have an older type q-jet on it. would a computer chip make any difference in my car. or should i just put in a vaccum advance. would the vacuum advance make the car run any different. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would think that installing an older style HEI distributor would be cheaper than having a chip (PROM) burnt just for quicker timing.

An aftermarket such as ACCEL will already have the timing curve altered for your application (They also offer rebuilt HEI's for a really cheap price).
