Concerned about my rearend.

I am Please help me to be . I want to be sure I have the right combination of drivetrain components to give me the best fuel economy and a good cruising speed.

I bought a '79 Chevy truck with a 250 in line six with a TH350 and 12 bolt diff as a donor for my '48 Chevy sedan. I believe the engine and tranny will be OK but I am concerned that the diff gears might need quiet a few engine revs to maintain a highway speed of 65 to 70 mph. I would love to have 1700 to 1900 rpm's to accomplish this. Give me your ideas for a good set-up.
