confiscate my wallet please...Just saw another good deal

I'm still showing symptoms of the car buying disease. This just popped up locally for 1200 obo. I guess I could take a dose of Wife to ease the cravings, but she thinks I'm already cured. This car just does it for me.

Maybe you could help by saying driving it would make me a redneck, even minus the fog lights. Or remind me I'll pay for it twice within two months feeding its 460.

JMO, I would not consider it unless you can resell it quick for at least $500 fast profit. You can't afford to drive it much, and not too many other car guys would want to feed it either. If you buy it and then register it, pay taxes & insurance on it, only to realize that it was a poor choice; then think of all those additional costs that go out the window on a resale.

Since you are here on HOTRODDERS, I would think you may have some sort of dream HOTROD you would really want someday. If you keep dragging stuff home because it's cheap, (and losing time & money on each one) you'll never get that dream car. So, If you like buying & selling, only buy stuff that is desireable to "most" car guys, and those can be dumped real quick for a tidy profit in case your dream pops up.

I just sold a so-so collectible car on Ebay, and a week later my childhood dream car popped up for sale and I was able to grab it. Time will tell if it was worth dreaming about for 40 years

I'm thinking Pimp mobile for some reason HEHEHE! Nice ride to Vegas or the Boobie bar! To bad you have the wife not unless you can get her to dress up!

Nice clean looking ride from the pic I say go for it!

I'd offer a grand and then swap the wheels out for a set of Torque Thrust II's. Looks like a nice ride to me

I wouldn't be caught dead in it. It's flat out fugly, it's a pimp mobile plain and simple.

But on the other hand you could substitute those wheels for some vegamatic wheels, get some rubber band tires, lower it, black out all the windows, and get a honkin high power stereo playing some of that hip hop trash, then you would be da man

Is that the projects I see in the background....nah couldn't be.

Vince

JD'S humble opinion............We all got the disease man, something about that for sale sign. BUT, if this had the stock wheels on it, to me it would be just another land yacht. Nice wheels or nice paint usually helps to sell any car.

I'm with F&J on keepin your money for the real dream car on your list.

You do have that list right?? My list is about 12 cars/trucks/rods/classics long and growing. No end in sight. Someone has to keep all the good stuff runnin and it might as well be us.

I guess the beauty of that car is you could actually take a dose of wife in the back seat, it's probably "Mambo Length".

you know I hate myself for liking that car but I do. I think probably you'd buy it and find that its not safe to drive because the brakes are shot, then you'd probably find the shocks are gone in it and the ball joints and tie rod ends are toast. All stuff that needs to be fixed before it gets too much driving. You can pretty much bet the gears are not really spectacular in the rear and the motor is old and tired in it so your tire-roasting potential is pretty mediocre.

If you bought it you'd probably have to put at least 500 bucks into it just to have it safe to drive, and it would probably be cool to ride around in for about 3 weeks and then you'd get sick of 11mpg and not really that much power to speak of. After all that you might not be able to get 1700 bucks out of it, much less your time and effort.

Only reason to buy that car is if you intend on putting a couple of grand into it and rodding it up a little, and now you're talking about a 4000 dollar investment which is a little less palatable.

If that thing will get 11 to the gallon, I should buy it. My truck only gets 8. Might have something to do with driving style, though....

In a while, Chet.

A buddy of mine had one of those back in the day. It was a pimp wagon then and it still is, but that 460 could maybe be pumped up and could go into something lighter. Now THAT would be cool!
