Question Convert Drums to Disks

I have heard of people converting a car that has rear drum brakes to use disk brakes all around. Is this a major project? Do you think it is worth the time/money? I am going to need to replace my shoes soon I think and if this is something I can do and it is something worth doing I might just put new disks on instead.

The only real reason that I can see is if I were going to put on a set of wheels that were very open, disks would looke better, but I don't plan on that since I can't find too many wheels that I think would look good on a 78 Omega, and none of them so far are open designs.

Any suggestions? Is this worth doing?

the brakes you have are fine you dont need to convert anything. the most common conversion is when you have drum brakes all around and you want to swap the front drums for rotors. unless you are setting up some monster drivetrain. your stock rear drums will be fine, besides it will cost you a couple hundred bucks to do it
