convertable top , 83 mustang

my wife has an 83 mustang convertable. it has verry low miles on it. i think its worth savin. it needs a new top. where can i find a new top for it that is good quality for a fair pice?ive looked at a few on the net but know nothin about em. i do have someone to help with the install but just dont know which one to buy. any good info on it would be great. i just dont want to make a bad choice.

I personally like Electron Convertible Tops. They are located out east. Dan's Custom Upholstery (no relation to me, LOL) in Visalia is a certified Electron installer. You will need to pick out the fabric you want and have them order one for you. You need to pick out a curtain with either glass or plastic. You should order new front and rear pads and a new well if they are not in good shape. Your top doesn't have wire on, so that's one less thing to worry about. While you're at it, make sure the cables on both sides are good, especially the ends where they attach to the vehicle. Robbins also makes a nice top.

build tips

google Jeff lilly restorations, and then build tips he has over 80 picts showing convt top install.

I know you can get them through Mustangs Unlimited, and you can order a video on replacing the top on your style mustang, but if DanTwoLakes recommends a brand of top, I would probably listen.

There are lots of good tops out there, but the people at Electron are very knowledgeable and helpful.
