converter

I just purchased a brand new B&M torkmaster 2000 converter. How much tranny fluid do you need to fill it with prior to installing it? 2,3,4? quarts

Stupido1,
You'll be ok with 1/2 to 3/4 of a quart in it. If you put any more in, it will run out when you install it on the trans.

Convertor

I fill it up and turn it upside down to drain off the excess. Use a thin layer of vaseline on the shaft so you don't burn your seal.

would it have the same effect if i just Thoroughly rubbed the shaft with tranny fluid?

And one more question. When attaching the converter to the flexplate, do i need to use washers for the 3 bolts, or are the bolts strong enough. The new bolts came with the new converter.

convertor

Putting tranny fluid on the shaft can cause it to leak. There is a special lubricant for the convertor and yoke. When you don't have the lubricant B&M recommends vaseline.

No washers. The bolts are designed for shear strength not stretch strength. Bolts go through the convertor with nuts on flex plate side. Flex plate humps go towards convertor.
