convertible
hey i am thinking about converting a 52 Chevrolet hard top into a full time convertible. Does anyone out there know if there is any additional body bracing that will have to be done. Since this is a full frame car i was expecting this to be small. Any books for reference on this topic would be great

re: convertible
Of course all cars are different, but look at this site about extesive bracing required, etc...http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Accessories/convertible.htm.
You may also contact Rich lackey, aka rlackey. He was converting a '54 Chevy last year and may be able to help/advise you. http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/con...dtop-61445.html Good luck! |

re: convertible
The ragtops usually have extra reinforcing in the rocker panels. May of the older cars also had an "X" brace in the frames of convertibles.
