convertible top

On my 1980 TR7 the top was rotten. I have the framework for the top but the fabric is no good. I would like to get another top to cover up the roll cage that is going in. I have looked on the internet for tops but the cheapest I have found is about $400 from JC Whitney. I was wondering if their was any place that I could get one cheaper. I was wondering if you might be able to just get the fabric without the framework. Any help would be appreciated

tops

I bought a couple of tops from JC quite a few years ago .Then they had different grades. It's a lot of work so I bought the best grade. It lasted 10 years outside all the time. Jc used to buy from the mfg on the east coast .. I called the Mfg when I needed new side curtains that weren't in the JC catalog any more but they only sold to their dealers. In the west Keystone is a large upholstery compamy that sells mostly to shops..you might check for suppliers in your area. I've done a couple of tops from scratch and they are a lot of work. My 29 A roadster has a 2 inch chop windshield and the guy said the new top bows are from a 32, Still a long time until the trim work and I don't know if I can make a 32 kit fit.
