Converting Light System to 12 volts

I have completely rewired my 39 Olds with a new 12 volt harness.

For all the lights, do I just need to buy new 12 volt bulbs?

Is there a resource for finding out the bulb numbers for the corresponding 12 volt bulb?

For instance, my 6 volt headlight bulbs are marked "GE 2630", and the parking light bulb is "GE Mazda 55".

12 volt bulbs

I would just go get the new bulbs at the local parts store on an as needed basis..the base of the bulb is what counts as it would be necessary to find the new bulbs with the correct base..Sooo of to the local parts store and compare the old bulb with the new..The local parts guy should be helpful to you..

long as it fits and works it will be fine..Headlite bulb is easy to do.most likely the taillites will be #1157..that is a real common bulb..as far as the others just change em out as needed..

re: Converting Light System to 12 volts

Here's an article on converting: http://www.oldengine.org/unfaq/six12.htm

An auto parts place should have a bulb catalog with some type of info on style, voltage, & part numbers.
