Cool Black or Grey base paint?

Hey everyone. I wanted to paint and flip an old sports car (maybe an Integra) and I think it might be a good idea to not use a stock colour but instead a slightly more flashy colour. So please tell me if you've had any experience with a grey/ silver or black paint that you think would really look amazing on a car like an Acura Integra for an example. I don't want it to be obnoxious at all, I just would want it to be a subtle improvement over an OEM colour.

I used to paint and flip back in the day, and it's been my
experience that they'll bring more money if they're the
original color. A color change is LOTS more work, and usually
has more areas that show it's a color change; such as hard
to reach areas under the hood, trunk, door jambs, etc.

Just my opinion for what it's worth...

Yeah maybe I should just paint stock. But is there an extremely high gloss black paint that I could use (so I could avoid the door jams and engine bay)?

When I do a basic black base/clear job, instead of looking through factory or aftermarket colors I have the paint store fix the basecoat STRAIGHT from the can of black. No blue, white, yellow or green as they would mix in when using a code. Its cheaper, too! (?)

I've always got compliments on the depth and "blackness" of the black. Side by side with a factory black there is a noticeable difference. Done it on several import "ricer" types, looks very modern and clean, and appeals to a wider range of buyers than an all out custom paintjob.

Custom paint on an Integra says to an adult "Hey look! I've probably been abused by morons!" even if that's not true.

I guess "old" and "sports car" are relative depending on your age and what you define as a sports car.

Made me chuckle a little, too.

Alright this is the way it works.
2012-2009 = New Car
2008-2000 = Car
1999-1987 = Old Car
1986-everything else = Classic Car

Sorry bud, realizing that you don't even qualify as old by my car standards is a rough thing. Classic fool actually sounds pretty sick if you were interested in changing your name.
