Thumbs up Cool Cars and guitars

I'm a bass guitar player, and starting to get into hotrodding (thats why I'm here), so how many of you all play guitar, what kind, and what type of music do you like to play.

SIX STRING ACCOUSTIC

I play a Martin 6 string accoustic, and sing mostly country, and folk music. I like to fire up my Les Paul once in a while and let er rip, but my wife hates the noise. (kinda like cheech and chong style.)

I play guitar and l lisetn to classic rock and some newer rock. My guitar is a stratocaster and can play just about any Zeppelin song pretty good. But I can also play things like Blink-182 and metallica.

I just got a little beginner's Fender Squier. I use Ernie Ball mediums and Fender med picks. Have a little Crate 15-r practice amp with reverb. No pedals, but I have SoundForge on my computer at home and plug right into my sound card. I've done some pretty decent overlays on some WIERD sounding stuff.

I'm working on my own music video now, just getting a storyboard together is the hardest part. That and getting the kind of footage I need takes some work. Its fun though.

I'll play SRV style through my Strat, country through my telecaster style Peavey, and just about anything on my acoustic. I have had to wean myself off the guitar stuff. I spent 9 years working in a music store. Guitars are almost as bad as hot rods for sucking the money. They are as much fun though!

I tried to learn the guitar a couple years ago, and just couldn't get the hang of it. Then i thought "hey maybe I'll try the bass there's less strings!" couldn't get that either, so instead of guitar I decided to learn bagpipes. It was fun! So I can't really play any pink floyd or anything on those, but hey if you want some old scottish folk songs give me a call .

I'm a bass player in a rock/metal band here in Minnesota. We're in need of a drummer at the time though. Metallica is my favorite band, i'm going to see them for the second time in august!
I also listen to Alice in Chains, Megadeth, Pantera, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, W.A.S.P....I could go on for a long time!
There's nothing like cruising around in a ****** muscle car listening to some heavy metal

I've been playing for 22 years now. I don't do the band thing so much anymore, but I still play at least an hour a day to keep my chops up. Most of the stuff I do now is with my drum machine and a synth. I run into my soundcard and record using a version of cakewalk. Most of the stuff I do is neo-classically styled shred(after all, I started playing in the 80's-lol) with Yngwie J. Malmsteen being a huge influence. I have a bunch of guitars and amps that I've collected over the years. My favorite guitars right now are my B.C. Rich Gunslinger and my Carvin DC200(awsome guitar!) My favorite amp set-up is an ADA mp1 preamp into a carvin tube power amp into a couple of Genz-Benz 2-12 cabs. I only use a couple of pedals- a boss delay and a boss digital reverb. When I've played in bands over the years I've also used a boss graphic EQ pedal for boost. Thats about it. Other guitars I own are a Strat, a B.C. Rich outlaw, B.C. Rich st3 and an early Charvel.

You sound pretty talented! wow, 22 years experience. I'm only 19 years old. Malmsteen is a guitar god! I love Black Star and Fire and Ice!
