Cool Cuda Wheelstand

You're right Chevelle, the imports can't do that. But, if you're into racing, you know a wheelstand like that will probably lose you the race. They are good for the photographers only.

In all honesty, I don't care for the imports much. I never thought a car smoking the front tires was very cool. But, some of them are VERY fast, and have to be given credit.

Ironically, over the years, I have had my share of small blocks, modified 6 cyls., a Plymouth ramcharger, a Fairlane GT, and a few others. What do I drive today? A Dodge SRT-4. Why? Economics. It was reasonable priced, had a good warranty, gets great mileage, and has all the performance most anyone on the street would want. And it AIN'T an import. It's just fun to drive.

What cracks me up is when they run wheelie bars on them.....its a fwd its not gonna pop a wheelie :rolleyes:

That is a sweeet car. My friend is just like you. He has a low miles 74 Grand Prix he keeps parked. Has an SRT-4 as a d.d. I would go that route too if I had the pockets.

The wheelie bars on the FWD cars are used for an entirely different purpose, not to prevent wheelstands.

When the car stages, the wheelie bars, which are hydraulic or air operated, are activated and push down on the track, lifting the rear wheels off the ground. This puts all the weight on the front drive wheels. After the car launches, the bars gradually let the rear wheels back down.

Kinda goofy, but it works pretty well. American inginuity......it's a wonderful thing. Some of these cars I believe have cracked the 6 second barrier and are over 200 mph, so they do go.

From the postings about thecar, it came down bustin up the front suspension and put it in the wall. They say the car is almost back together and fixed.

Not a Import But a 1975 Caddy Eldorado's rag top doing a Front wheel drive burn out is a kool experience all 500 CID open wide open :mwink:
