New member, howdy all.

Quick question, have a 55 Ford F100, bought off ebay, probably first mistake ?? It has a rebuilt 77 302, lost 3 freeze plugs out of it while running it in the gargage over winter. Anyways finally got them replaced. The problem now is refilling the coolant. The previous owner didnt know the size of the radiator. He recommended pulling the thermostat, run the truck and fill the radiator. Turn it off drain the fluid in containers, keep half, put back in the truck and fill the rest with anti-freeze.

My question, is there not a easier way of doing this or is this it ?

I appreciate any feed back.

Sounds like too much work to me. Either get 50/50 premix or buy a gallon and mix it yourself. I'm assuming theres nothing in it for coolant, so toss a gallon of 50/50 in it, then another till its close to full. Start it up, let it warm so the tstat will open then top it off after it cools.
