I have a 91' chevy corsica and i am debating on whether i can put a v8 in it. I havent heard of anyone doing it, but i think its possible if u use the front end out of a third gen firebird along with the tranny and rearend and suspension. The motor would have to be turned around and it would become rear wheel drive, it seems to involve alotta custom work. Can anyone advise me on this?

1st question is ummmmm.... why
2nd how much time and effort you willing to put into it I know many guys have turned dodge daytonas (yeah those 80s things) into rear wheel drive v-8s might wanna look at some of those sites, of course the corsica will have problems of its own |

my reasoning was, that a corsica is a unibody similar to the firebird and the firebird has the strut front end to. In theory it seems quite possible

You will need to cut the floor for the drive shaft to clear and beef up the rear end some how to accept a rear axle. Anything can be done its all up to YOU. Good luck if you do try and build it. Gotta love this Hobby,

sorry just the fact that they are front wheel drives and called daytonas and ment to be sports cars makes them things... after it is made into a rear wheel drive it is worthy of a name

Go for it, that sounds different. Never seen one yet. As for the Daytona, there is a clan of guys who drive them cars where I live, 4 drive around together, sit on the side of the road with there hoods open, taking pictures. They're a joke around here. If they V8'd a Daytona that would be cool. A V8 Corsica sounds OK, Try it I'm sure it will be a lot of work though.

u guys laugh at me, well i do to, but i think a 400hp. rwd corsica would be the balls, especially if i leave it stock lookin, and it would be one in a million, quite literally, i havent decided whether to do it or not yet.

Well, I'm swapping a FWD Cadillac V-8 into a Lumina and people either think it's cool or stupid, but Son a RWD V-8 Corsica is really out there. Are you sure you REALLY want to try this ?

I don't know why this thread came back, but....... since it did, here's an idea. The corsica is basically the same car as a beretta, and here's an awd v8 beretta. http://www.berettastuff.com/reference/prototypes.shtml#
