Corvair Engine problems

I have a 1964 Corvair. It runs great until it gets hot. I think it is vapor locking but can't be sure. Once it cools down it starts right up. I can run on cool days but on hot days it will die and not start again until cool down. I'm sure it is starved for gas since it will run on starting fluid spray even when hot. Help?

Check fuel pump pressure AND flow. Weak pump will give up when hot.

Make sure the fuel pump diaphragm isn't leaking too. I've never had vapor lock problems on any of the Corvairs that I've owned. A sure cure for it would be retrofitting a electric fuel pump. The quality of replacement mechanical pumps is terrible anyway.
