Corvair Manual to Auto conversion

Hi, I am swapping out a troubled 102 hp corvair with a 110 hp manual. I want to swap the belhousing to make the 110 hp engine an automatic. Is there any know issue with this? One thing I found about the 102 is that it is high compression which means premium gas right? Anyways, my main question is if I'll be able to remove the torque convertor and bellhousing and swap them without having to tear apart the engine. Thanks! -Mike

Wow, I haven't seen a Corvair in probably 10 years! LOL

Don't know if anyone has one on here but there are lots of Corvair forums on the web.

Thanks Mark I asked it on a few corvair boards. The answer is YES you can swap both bellhousings without tearing the engine apart. And the 110 engine also requires premium gas Thanks. -Mike
