I have a 1969 Corvette, with 350 engine, and 400 transmission. The differential is making a clunk clunk noise when I turn corners. The service manual says this is caused by a bad differential side gear and pinion. I find that I can replace the differential with a rebuilt unit for about the same price as buying all the parts individually and trying to install them myself.(About $700.00)
In order to do this I will need to remove the side yokes from the old differential and install them in the rebuilt unit. I have consulted a service manual and two videos, and none of this information tells me how to remove and re-install the side yokes. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
