Corvette Suspension in a 36 Ford

I've got an 1984 Corvette rear in a 36 Ford (not narrowed) and a Progressive cross member and Corvette parts in the front. I'm trying to figure out what size wheels and tires will work with this set up. I've been told the smallest wheel I can use is a 16" aluminium and with the rear stock Corvette width and I'll need to backspace to the max to fit in the wheel wells. Has anyone used this combination in a 36 and does it work?

Mr. Bob says '87 and earlier Corvette components can fit a 15" wheel: read the first block of purple text you come to. BTW, my '87 'vette stuff has 11.5" rotors, not 11" as stated. Best thing to do is arrange to "borrow" a rim from a wheel & tire shop, take it home and gently test fit it.

I don't know anything about unsing one in a 36, but I have tried 15" wheels on my 84 Vette rear and not been able to get them to fit with the calipers on it. As for the backspacing, you can get steel wheels from Stockton Wheels, at really reasonable prices, with backspacing that you want.
