Cost to change gears and install a posi?

Does anyone have an Idea of how much a mechanic would charge to intall Ring/Pinion/posi in the rear end of a GM 8.5. 72 impala ??

Do some research in your area, For a 8.5, I charge $225.00 plus any parts,If they charge for any more than 4 or 4.5 hours to do one complete I would do some shopping.

my friend paid $350 to have 4.56 gears swapped in his pure street monte carlo. The mechanic furnished the gears

it's held up for a year at the roundtrack so far. He manages to get some real good deals sometimes

Setting up a gear for a round d round has to be a piece of cake, don't have to worry too much about gear noise.
