Cost of insurance for 16 year old highschooler?

What is the usual or average cost of insurance for a 16 year old highschooler with a 3.75 GPA? how much does the cost go up if I was to drive to school everyday? Whats the cost for like a 1.5GPA? Thanks!

It depends on alot more than just your grades. I know that it also depends on if your on a plan with your parents or not, what kind of car it is, how old the car is, and if you have liability or full coverage for your insurance. You can also lower your cost with good grades and by taking a defensive driving course(at least in TX)
And it also depends on your driving record and your parents driving record.
But for me when I was 16 it cost me about 800 a year for liability only on a 86' chevy truck. And that was with My parents having a clean record, and a discount for my parents being with the insurance company so long, and good grades, and no tickets or wrecks! I had probably the cheapest insurance in my high school, mainly because I had the oldest car!!

yep, mine was to school everyday. It didn't just cover me in just my hometown either, but anywhere else.
But it does really matter on what car you drive.
A thing my family does, is even though I am the one who drives my 85' corvette everywhere, my dad is listed as the primary driver according to the insurance, and I am listed as the primary driver of his 1999 dodge ram. The reason being for just liability, its twice as much if I was listed as the primary driver of the vette rather than what Im paying for his truck.
But this way I am insured to drive any car out in our driveway, except my truck and my sister's car which aren't on any insurance plans as of right now.

EDIT: I just realized a misunderstanding, my insurance wasn't 800 a month. It was more like 400 for six months, which came up about 8-900 a year.

im 16, im listed on my 1966 ambassador, my last GPA was like 1.9, and my insurance costs about $70/month. i get my inurence out of utah also (they're a multi-state provider) but I've also had 1 arrest, and an exhibition of speed ticket....

so yours might be cheaper, but im surprised mine is as cheap as it is...

Where are y'all getting those deals? i drive a straight sis three speed 84 c-10 and my insurance is $650 to $700 dollars per 6-month period and thats with the good student discount.. Now i am screwed though cause last week i got a speeding ticket for 20 mph over the limit. i am scared to open my next bill. i am going through my parents plan and registered to drive all six of our running cars though. in a couple of months i'll be 18, which i don't know if it will help or hurt me cost wise.
