Ok, '68 429 out of a Thunderbird. Its got flat top pistons so I'm pretty sure its got the 11:1 compression.
Intake - I got the Edelbrock Perfromer intake. Someone told me that its pretty much like the stock intake and I won't see much HP gains. Any opinions? Oh yeah, there will be an Edelbrock 800cfm carb on top and I have the Comp Cams 270H, has like a .513 lift I think.
Engine Mounts - This 429 is going in my '78 Bronco. I can buy L&L mounts for $100, or I can use 390FE mounts. Turn em, drill the hole a lil bigger and they work. I know two guys with Broncos that used the FE mounts. I just can't see spending a $100 bucks for "special" mounts when factory FE mounts will work. (Oh, and I've also heard that the L&L mounts don't just drop in like they're supposed to, you have to modify the tower to accept them.)
Ideas and Opinions are welcomed. Thanks!
