Couple of tranny questions(GM)

Hi. i have a 3400 lb pontiac bonneville. i put my street stock engine, and Monte SS rear in it with 3.73's & posi. i am also gonna change the tranny. should i use a 200R4 or a TH350? i dont care about gas mileage. i just want whats gonna be best for performance. do you think either trans will hold up to the power of my engine?

engine specs:

.060" over 350.
11:1 compression
TRW Forged Dome Pistons
New stock rods and crank
Fully ported Camel Hump heads with 2.02/1.60 valves and roller rockers.
Edelbrock Torker 2 intake
Crane Energizer 302 cam(246 duration .500" lift)
Holley 650 CFM carb
1 3/4 headers, 4" exhaust from header, about 4 ft long. gotta come up with something different than that. lol

Thanks Alot.

350

My choice is the 350 but your going to have to put some parts in it to get it to hold up. Red friction plates, shift kit, convertor, and case hardened sprag race.

The 200-4R will require some mods to live reliably. Would not be real cheap...
The deeper ratios COULD help...

The Th350 will hold up with minimal mods.
Red friction plates are not required...

A stock type tan Borg Warner friction works well. I have one Th350 using a stock 4 clutch direct with the BW's and running 10's in the 1/4 in a 3600 lb Camaro. 2 seasons so far.
