Crab Cap Distributor Swap

I have a 1977 Chevy 305cid motor in my "49 Willys Jeepster Street Rod. I need a distributor that sits a lot lower so I can install a electric wiper motor where the Vacuum motor mounts. The "49 Willys body has been lowered 5 inches on the frame by a former builder. The vacuum motor just does not work the wipers very well.
Can anyone tell me if I can replace my HEI distributor with a Crab Cap distributor and what else may be needed to make this change?
Thanks Guys

i have wipers on my 58 chevy truck but have never used them in 20,000 miles
i drive my truk every day in the summer, rain or shine
we drove a full day in the rain on the 2012 hot rod power tour
i use rainx. keep a fresh coat of rainx on your windshield and you will never need wipers

nice jeepster by the way, i'd like to find one for myself
