Cracked head or block in 460 Ford marine
I just cracked either the heads or the block in my Ford 460 in my Jet Boat. I overheated due to seaweed plugging the passage from the Berkley Jet to my nheat exchanger and foolishly added cold river water to the engin coolant(antifreezr solution) when hot. After restarting, the oil has water and the crankcase is being pressurized blowing oil water into the crancase breather tube which vents to the carburetor.
My question isn't haow to prevent my own foolishness, but rather, can one utilize a basic Ford short or long block and add the marine accessories to replace the problems I caused? |

Cracked Head or Block in Marine Ford 460
I will be removing engine right after Christmas and will get all pertinent engine data then as well as determine exact cause of problem. Then the decision will be whether to rebuild or buy an appropriate long or short block or auto motiv salvaged engine.
Thanks. |
