cracked tranny case

i am working with an aluminum trans housing and a steel pan. The front ear on the trans right where a bolt goes is cracked. I managed to re-tap the bolt hole hole to a larger size without doing any further damage, as the existing bolt was stripped. the pan is finally snug and the bolt is tight, but fluid continues to leak on the top side of where the bolt comes through. Aside from removing the entire front of the car (97 Altima) to gain access to tig the housing, does anyone have any ideas on how to seal this thing up. I tried some jb weld type stuff, but either I did not have the work area clean enough or it just did not work as it still leak like all... h e double hockey sticks.

Thanks!!!!!!

re;oh he double hockey sticks

drain the tranny, clean the mating surfaces meticuliously!!! Make sure the steel pan is not warped at that point, put in a new cork gasket and at the place it's leaking put a good sized bead of high-temp silicone;tighten it to snug and let it cure for 24-48 hours.then tighten it to spec. it should do the job.good luck!! tomj
