If you do any kind of repairs to that block the engine really should be disassembled to keep debris from making its way into the rest of the engine. If you disassemble the engine then you might as well replace the block. I can see doing something like that to an engine that is a little harder to come by like an old flathead or something of that nature, but on a 350? They're all over the place. It may cost a little bit for machine work and stuff but save yourself the time of having to pull an engine apart twice. Theres no guarantee on how long the repair is going to last either.
