Red face cracking where fibreglass panel grafted to metal panel

I have grafted a fibreglass forward half of a fender to the metal back half, the pieces joined mid wheel. Metal and glass are stepped and pop riveted, glued and glassed over, they continue to crack in the joints. Once I jacked up the car and the joint cracked. It has justed cracked in normal use I have repaired this many times and have had them pro. repaired, they still crack

This union will never work. The metal and fiberglass shrink and expand at different rates.

Both materials flex differently, there will always be cracking because you can't join the two any stronger than a rivet and glue. and as Wills 41 says, the expansion will differ. Dan
