I'm selling a 1969 Chevy Custom 10 Longbed. This is a PROJECT TRUCK; don't expect to pick the truck up and drive off! I got this from a guy a few years back, but I haven't had any time to restore it. It has a stock 350 in it and the guy that had it before me was in the middle of converting it from a manual to a standard. I'm not for sure what kind of tranny is in it, but I would imagine it is a turbo 350 (like usual). When I originally got the truck it did run, but I haven't driven it since. It needs a carb for it (sold it to my brother) and a battery to hear it run. It wasn't burning any smoke when it ran. The truck needs wiring throughout the whole thing. I was told (when bought by me) that the truck had a new intake, new radiator, a replacement windshield (seen in the pictures), newer wheels, new sill plates, new emblems, newer bench seat, and newer lights. The main things it needs are carb, battery, wiring throughout, attach the front bumper (it isn't attached, just sitting), and gas gauge (if I remember right, it didn't read. Either way, it's a PROJECT TRUCK. I'm asking $1000 or best offer...make me a "reasonable" offer.
Start by offering him $600. The conversion, a clutch conversion from the wrecking yard will do, different trans, bell housing, flywheel, pressure plate, throw out bearing, hopefully most wrecking yard parts. A pita job, my opinion, I'd keep the automatic. Depends on how far along this guy got with the conversion. How much time, money and labor do you want to invest in a truck? I'd get it running the cheapest way possible and take it from there. Good luck.

That's funny, I don't care who you are... (why does the number 420 come to mind? )
And to convert from a manual to a standard...
1) Sit in the truck.
2)step on the clutch
3) let off the clutch
Conversion is done.
I just got done resurrecting a 68 Chevy c20 LB from a 5 year nap...pressure wash everything and keep your eyes open for black widows. It needed every rubber brake part replaced, along with the fuel tank and fuel pump, and a carb rebuild.
If it needs a wiring harness on top of all that other stuff, 1 wouldn't offer him more than 300.00 tops .
Those sell around here for 800 -1200 in running condition. Longbeds are not as popular as shortbeds, hotrod guys usually don't want them, and anyone looking for a worktruck doesn't need a project like that.
Really it is a little bit newer than I want, but I thought the description was pretty funny. I am not seriously considering it as a project, but it is roughly speaking in the condition my budget allows right now. Really I want a a 49-52 buick with the straight 8 or a roughly 1948-1950 coupe from any manufacturer. For trucks I would prefer either a ford with a flathead or up to 1956 or a chevy AD. I also have my eye on a roughly 1952 international that has been sitting at a local used truck lot for a long while.
