Crane Fireball 286 cam.

Anybody ever use the 286 Fireball back during the iron age? I picked one up NIB with lifters. It has to be from the late 70's or so. Just wondering what the idle on it was like. Specs are:

286/292 Adv. Dur.
213/220 @ .050"
.434"/.450" Lift
110 LSA/106 ICL

I took inventory of my garage and in collecting parts for the 383, horse trading and changing plans I had enough parts to build the 383 and 2 complete 355's minus one cam. I found this cam & lifters on eBay CHEAP and the LSA, .050" Dur. and lift looked about right for a decent driver so I'm building one 355 to put in the Monte for now until either the Monte is closer to being finished OR I find something lighter for the 383. The Monte is still getting the 200-4R and 3.73's this Spring which should still make a nice combo even with the milder engine. It will be a 9.2 to 1 355 with ported 305HO heads with 1.94 intakes, 22cc dish Sealed Power hypereutectic pistons, Performer intake, 600 Holley and 1-5/8" headers. This is all stuff I picked up used or "on sale" so I won't have a bundle wrapped up in it. The DCR on this came out identical to my 383 plans so I can run this one on 87 Octane too. According to DD2000 it should make decent TQ and HP. No power monster but decent especially for what I'll have in it.
