crank gear

do i need a puller to get the crank timing gear off, or do you remove the key in the groove,or both.. someone refresh my memory. chevy 350

you need a puller, don't mess up your crank threads

Doc here,

In theory, You need a puller..

But , I had them do both, some refuse to come off, others slide right off by hand, It depends on how worn it is..

Plan for the worst, and hope for the best.
