Critique my combo please...

90-91 454 w/.030 over bore
TRW L2307af forged pistons
heads are GM casting 6272292 w/2.06 / 1.71 small valves
GM cast crank
GM truck rods, shotpeened, polished w/ARP bolts
Isky Mega 292 hyd cam
Edelbrock RPM intake
Holley 850 dp

Motor is for a 71 weekend only street/strip Chevelle. With this piston/head combo should be around 12.1 cr using race gas. Upgrading to larger 2.19/1/88 valves in heads. Would like between 500-550 hp to move this car into the 11's. I would like to use the parts I have however if you see something which is mismatched, please advise. Let me see your similar combos and hp results. Thanks !

That looks like a pretty good combo to me,the carb may be a bit on the big side though, but it should be capable of reaching your 500-550 hp goal. The bigger valves are a good idea, but they may lower the cr a bit.Are you having any machine work done ?? I would recommend at least getting the block decked, and try for a quench height of 0.035-0.045.Getting the crank assembly balanced would be a good idea to.

Ok, I have changed my plan a little....

90 454 w/.030 over bore
Sealed Power L2465 forged pistons 9.6 cr w/ 781 heads
heads are GM casting 781 with 2.19/1.88 valves, light bowl blend
GM cast crank
GM truck rods, shotpeened, polished w/ARP bolts
Edelbrock RPM intake
Holley 850 dp

which cam Isky Mega 292 hyd or Lunati Voodoo 60204 ?

any guess on hp ?? trying for just close to or just over 500 hp
