Just a quick question. Do cross drilled or slotted rotors on disc brakes make a difference or are they just for looks?

They don't make a braking difference, but do work. They help keep the brakes cooler so they don't get spongy and overheated.

I can tell you that they made a big differance on my GS1100 Suzuki. Before I drilled the rotors the brakes were subject to severe fade if you got on them real hard for a long time.
