Which crossmember?

Im in the middle of installing a 454 with th400 in a 83 shortbox 2wd truck. Can anyone post a link to the correct crossmember, factory or aftermarket that will work?
The tranny came out of a late 70's 2wd 3/4 ton truck if that helps.
Thanks for any help.
Jim

You should be able to just slide the crossmember in the 83 back, mount holes should already be there.

no such luck, and also the th400 uses a 2 bolt tranny mount but my crossmember uses a single. when I put the single hole mount on the tranny it wont line up with the crossmember. I would rather just get an aftermarket crossmember so I wont have to deal with this headache

TH400's were available- there should be holes already there, as SSedan64 said. And there are OEM x-members, as well.

I seem to remember just using a different tranny mount and that was all that was needed other than relocating the original x-member...

I guarantee you that the holes are not there. so is there no aftermarket one that will work? Maybe for racing applications

Can you drill holes in the frame for the cross member bolts? Or double walled frame area where you can not slide the cross member back?

there are mounts for the trans that will bolt to the t-400 that have single studs, OR 3 holes in the mount flange so a single bolt will go through the cross member
