Crossmember help!
I have a 1980 Delta 88 that had a v-6 231 (dont ask me why) and I (well friend of mine) is in the process of putting a Olds 350 with Th350 trans in it. I know very little about cars, but I know the transmission mount for the th350 is not fitting on the crossmember (because of the v-6???). But I am wondering could I use a crossmember from a Delta 88 with a 307 or does it have to be a Delta that has a 350 in it?
Thanx in Advance |

yea the motors in and mounted, so is radiator...it's just that the transmission will not mount up, but will let's say a 80 Delta 88 with a 307 crossmember fit on the 350? Or would I have to find a delta 88 with a 350 in it?

cross member
cross member will be the same in the 80 to put 200 tranny you most likely had with the v6 and replacing it with a 350 tranny,
did that change out alot back then. did it have a side step mount from the old tranny, with a bracket to cat converter? step mount is an off set mount and my old parts books show's 3 different mounts back then your local parts store would be a good place to start |

yea the mount on the old transmission is off set, which is starting the whole problem. The th350's mount is centered, so therfore bolts are off. Is there anything I can do, or could there be a th350 mount that is off centered??

the bolt holes do not match up...the th350's holes are wider than the 200's.

tranny mount
sounds like you have a 400 not 350
bolt hole's on 200, 200r4 , 350 and 700 at the case are all the same distance between bolt holes, but several different tranny mounts are made for cross members. they have one new mount that replaced about 10 different old style mount's not the off set one |
