Thumbs up Cruise Nights

Oh yes, they are back!
Yesterday was the first "official" cruise night here in Winnipeg. I was surprise how many cars acutally showed up even though the weather wasnt the nicest.
1930 Ford, some mustangs, a 1956 Chev Truck, bunch of lowered S10's, some mopar cars and a 1957 Belairs were few of the cars. The rest of the streets were filled with ricers. Tincan resonators, carbon fibre hoods and sticker filled bodykits. Alltogether it wasnt too bad.
How is it in other cities? Are cruise nights organized or is there a specific day?
Here in the 'peg its every sunday night. A brand new law to stop streetracing is that police now have the right to take your car for 48 hours if you're racing or speeding. A fine up to 5,000 will be given and you can lose your DL for 1-3 years. Street Racing isnt that popular but it's catching up here too.

The dummies around here don't start the cruise nights until after the May 24 weekend....Bunch of "pansies", scared to get a little winter dirt on their precious rides........I've had my truck out for a month already.

Then, they shut them down in the 3rd week of Sept....................could go on for at least another month after that.

Here it's usually the middle of May that things start to liven up. North St. Paul has had a thing going every Friday and Saturday nights, while downtown has a thing every Saturday Night. Each event draws about 100 Cars each.

Hey Nightfire, are you registered for the Minnesota Street Rod Association's big car show in June?

We don't have a cruise night here yet in the Lima area til June, I think. It's friday nights at the Happy Daze restaurant near St. Rita's Hospital. We do have our fisrt swap meet in Wapakoneta, this sunday the 2nd of May. (at the fairgrounds, Kev and Wiemer) Not a big deal but you may find some parts if your looking.
