Post CUBIC INCHES???

I have a 400 SB bored .30 over and some other work done to it.[11:1] LOOKING FOR MORE POWER.

Can I get 427ci from it? Or is the best I will be able do is stroke it to a 415 + the .30 over?

I guess I should mention I am going to be adding a duel stage of NOS. (small shots, more for show)

If your looking for more power I would go with a stroked big block, a 400 SBC is pushing the envelope as far as reliability goes in it's factory configuration. You would be wiser to spend your dollars on a stroked 454 and get over 500 cubes, hope you own a tire store or married the heiress to the Goodyear fortune. 27 more cubic inches would hardly be noticeable.

HATE BIG BLOCKS......I like the mid range tourqe...seems much easier to get it from a small block (I know I know...everyone has a different opinion on this one)

I just went ahead and ordered the kit to stroke the 400 I already have.

Last DYNO pulled just under 500 HP with 470+ ft pounds of tourqe all under 6000 RPM.

All going into a car that weighs under 3000, well under 3000.

Very true.. im a big subscriber to the nitrous pig theory... 200+ horse hit to a 1 hp/ci motoor, with minor blotons and hypo pistons

This is my 1st real motor....if she blows...then I will get real deap into my pocket and build something more radical.

For now...I am stuck with what I have got. Bigger then most in the one horse town.
Anyone that does have a big block is either strickly racing it or it is a very mild build with lots of show pieces.
