cummins/powerstroke/duramax

Is there any one that is really better than the other? If so how/why is it better. I found with my current situation when i get through college I can afford to buy a diesel and I'm starting to look now.

My money would go to either the Duramax or the Powerstroke. Never did like Dodges anyhow.

I am a Chevy man that doesn't mind Fords, and I hate dodge, When I bought a new truck I drove all three and did a bit of research on each one.

The Chevy was out right away, I don't want to bad talk Chevy's so I won't say anything at all, (do your research).

The Ford had good power, the truck looked good but I felt like I was driving a bus and when I looked under the hood...OMG crap everywhere, what a nightmare.

Final made myself go and check out the dodge Quad cab short bed, WOW.....I was rallying it around like it was a camaro, burnin the tires, even had it going sideways around a few corners (posi rearend) it felt good, looked under the hood...WOW I could see the motor, it was very clean and lots of space.
I went home telling myself there is no way Im buying a dodge.
I researched the drive train and that was it, I bought the dodge, one year later now, and I it has proven to be the best truck I have ever owned.

Didn't mean to be so long winded, just telling you my experience....do your research and you will buy the right truck for you.

All 3 of the diesels are pretty good engines its really hard to say one is that much better than the others. The cummins has a great following how ever you have to remember that the ho cummins is consiterable different from the mechanical injected diesel engine that its reputation was built on. The powerstoke and the duramax both had some teething problems but seem to be ironed out now. I think it all boils down to personal preference in the end.

Go Duramax!!

I've never drivin a Cummins, but my Dads company owns a 2003 Duramax. It has the 6 speed manual in it. That truck really pulls in the low end. Great for 4x4'n to! Its just my personal prefrence, but that is what I would go with Good luck
