Custom Avatar

I have tried several times over the past year to set up a custom avator. Either I don't know how, or the site is not being maintained. Per the instructions, I have emailed my desired avator, as well as follow up questions, but have never gotten any response.

Any ideas??

All you have to do is send a picture by email and a note telling them what you want send it here. avatars@hotrodders.com .And they will check the pic and size it for your avatar, I just had mind done like 3 days ago so it's working. Cole

I thought it was just me, but I get the feeling there are a lot of folks having this problem.

It's not a problem...it's just the way it's done here.......The admin doesn't want these obnoxious avatars that are huge, or profane etc.......

I appreciate your comment, but don't assume someone's avatar is obnoxious or profane if you have not seen it. The pic that I have submitted for an avatar (more than once) is quite small and no more obnoxious than yours.

When more than one person is having the same problem, it is obvious that there is something wrong, or we are doing something wrong on our end. However, to say "it's just the way it's done here" seems like a very uninformed comment.

Let me explain........On this forum, you, me or anyone else cannot put an avatar on the board. The only way to do it is to email a picture to the administrator, which he approves and puts in place......That is the policy.

Is that informed enough for you?

Yes.......you make much more sense this time than you did with your last posting, but you really should read the postings more carefully.

Of course the administrator is the only one who can add an avatar. If you see my original post, I was not asking someone to add one for me. I was asking "if anyone had any ideas why it was not working for me". You will also notice that I have followed the policy and sent a pic to the administrator several times.

I appreciate your attempt to help answer my questions, and will consider this posting closed.

Thanks for everyones help.

Sorry...I was under the impression that you were trying to add the avatar by yourself, like you can on many forums.........Jon, the administrator may have missed it...........he's a very busy guy. No excuse, I know.........

Guys -- avatars get updated every week or so. If two weeks passes, and you still don't see your avatar, please re-send, because sometimes they get caught in spam traps. Thanks.
