custom dash install

I would like to install a custom dash in my FOrd Pinto Panel Wagon, can I remove the stock dash? and if so, how do I go about choosing a dash from another car to install....

thanks,
Mike

ps a pic of my Panel-it started life as a regular stationwagon, now its a 2 seater Panel...did all my own panel fabing and welding/bodywork...

Looks like a good start on a project, maybe instead of finding a different dash, might look at the dash you have and see if you can redesign what you have,no rules on home built projects, just a thought good luck

HEY PINTO: I made some digital gauges with a five digit or available in six digit panel from www.nordskogperformance.net you can buy them from Sumitt Racing. The kit comes with all parts and senders. I used a black plexaglass panel in front and when energized they light up thru panel. GREAT....DAVE

dash panel

Hey Dave,
that sounds really cool, is there anyway you could take a picture and send it via e-mail to me. I would really like to see how it came out. And where can a person get black plexiglass?? what did you use to cut the holes (a holesaw)??

Mike

HEY PINTO: The kit comes with a flat piece of dark plexglass that will screw right over the digital panel to hide the printed circuit board. It has the legends for the different readouts already printed into plastic. I bought a piece of 1/4 inch dark plexiglass scrap for $ 3.00 at local plastic sheet supply center ( look in yellow pages under Plastic Sheet Suppliers). I need a curved contour so I laid plexiglass over metal form from old instrument cluster and put it in oven at 450 degrees until sheet dropped to exact contour. I used seperate legends that they supplied to me. I do not have any digital pictures but I do have a number of pictures that I will be happy to send you if you send me your address. It really came out neat and I will be glad to help you in any way that I can...Just let me know. My direct e mail is DaveSr@trianglesalesusa.com....DAVE
