Custom Lenses for muscle cars
Hello Board i wanted to get your opinions...
I have developed a low cost way to reproduce plastic lenses ie..turn signal, tail lights interior lights etc any plastic part I have been offering reproduction and custom lenses to the motorcycle market with great interest. Wondering if the custom hot rod crowd would be interested in CLEAR and colored lenses I can achieve a number of custom effects often seen in paint such as metalic, pearl and color changing effects. I have done some neat colors as well ,,,Ice blue tail lenses, yellow, match the color of your paint smoke etc.. the lenses have a slight tint but still appear red when lit from within with red bulbs. (i know it is not legal but you are a rebel right? or for show cars etc.) any thoughts ??yah or nah |
Greg, sounds good, go for it :D

Hey GregClauss,
Let's see a pic or 2 of these lenses. Might be interesting. Kevin |

I would be interested in these too. They look great.

Will the lenses take a blue dot? Just how heavy are they, how tuff? That ice blue look was great.
Todd  |
I would be interested in some custom lens and that Ice Blue looks great.

Can you do custom design lenses from a model or can you only mimic existing lenses? I have some custom lens ideas but never could find a manufacturer. They are complex. That's what kept me away from the standard production methods. Aside from the multi-million dollar machines, I could not figure out a way to achieve mass production in small runs.
Let me know, either here or my email address. Phillip :D |

Greg,
Sent you an e-mail but never got a reply. Kevin |
Hello,
I found this forum from a websearch. I am needing "red lenses" for my motorcycle turn signals. They are only made in amber, but I have rewired the bike so that the turn signals now also function as running lights and brakelights. This gives me lots more visibility, but I now need red lenses. I would be curious what the cost of making a set of "red lenses" would run. Since this isn't hotrod related, I will include my email dwestmodesto@hotmail.com. The cars I play with are VW's. Currently have 61 ragtop beetle, 66 hardtop sedan beetle, 67 deluxe microbus, and 74 westphalia camper bus(that just became smog exempt....finally...del'orto's here I come...lol Thanks in advance, Dave |
