Custom Sail Panels?

So....I pulled the sails out of my Riv. nothing but cardboard and fabric for the most part.

Anyone think it would work to just cut new ones from cardboard and add a few layers of Fiberglass to reinforce them?

Figured painted fiberglass would hold up better than fabric, is cheaper, and might add some speaker mounting options.

let me add to this.....

what i was wondering was can i just use resin on the cardboard? no fabric.

As long as you get the shape right you can make them out of anything you want. I don't think I would use only resin on cardboard. You could use a layer of fleece, that would hold resin very well.

cardboard, some old t-shirts, a little spray glue, and some resin seem to be working. I'll throw another coat on tomorrow and sand.

pics to follow!

That will be good, you just needed something for the resin to grab onto, and the t-shirts should do it fine.
