the only thing i can suggest is to look for a 46-48 dodge and check out their hoods. they have a split hood. there is a small strip that goes between the hoods. the only thing i'd be worried about is the curvature of the hood from front to back will make it difficult to get the hinges right. you'll have to come up with some kind of bracket/hinge to lift the panels away from the center. otherwise if you just hinge it, the hinge pins will have to be higher than the crown of the metal to clear and that won't look too good with hinges sticking out of the hood.
