Custom split hood opening ideas?

I've got a 41 Chevy Pickup. Chopped, channeled, and the whole bit. I've spent a bit of time searching but can't find any custom split hood setups around. I know they are pretty slick, but can't hurt to see what else is out there. I love the 2 piece design, but curious if anyone has seen anything done with these, i.e. pivots on front & opens up. Thanks for the pics and suggestions

the only thing i can suggest is to look for a 46-48 dodge and check out their hoods. they have a split hood. there is a small strip that goes between the hoods. the only thing i'd be worried about is the curvature of the hood from front to back will make it difficult to get the hinges right. you'll have to come up with some kind of bracket/hinge to lift the panels away from the center. otherwise if you just hinge it, the hinge pins will have to be higher than the crown of the metal to clear and that won't look too good with hinges sticking out of the hood.

i just thought of something, which may be how these hoods are done anyway, which is to not have a hinge under the hood panels, but like a rod/pins that is on each end of the panel and allows the hood to turn up. the hood would lift up from the side, but then would go down at the center. you could mount the pins like 1.5" from the center to allow the hood to swing up.

hope this helps.
