customized impala idea

This came to me in a dream a couple of nights ago. I dreamed I was back at the farm and this is what was in the driveway. So today I decided to see what the car would look like by modifying a picture I found online. (Not a pro job I know. All I know how to use is Paint)

With its three tail lights on each side, why shouldn't the Impala have three headlights as well?

I'd never have the guts to chop up my own '65, but I like the way this looks. Thought I'd share it with you guys.

I see what you are thinking, but didn't the lesser option cars like the Biscayne have just two taillights per side??
IMO you went the wrong way, I think the car would look better with just a large 7" round headlight, like the 66-67 Nova.
I have seen a third tailight per side added to the rear of the 63-67 Corvette, it looks quite good, but your 3 headlight thing just looks too out of place. Might look better as two in the center like a Shelby Mustang 67-68.

As with EVERY change ever made to a car, if you want it to "fit" you need to know your "theme". In other words, "to what end?"

What are you after? Is this the only change? Is it among many other modifications that the factory "may" have done in a "styling exercise"? Are you planning on radically changing the entire car?

These are all questions you need to ask yourself. How will this mod fit in with the rest of the mods you plan on doing?

Nearly every mod "works", IF if there is a theme leading it from here to there.

Brian

I remember a guy several years ago took a 65 mustang, And he added the 65 taillights all the way across the tail panel did a fine job to, I remember everyone talking about it and back then it did look pretty cool.Just like when people were adding the cougar taillights on their mustang too..Those headlights look pretty cool and talk about bright lights different but that's what its about when you modify to each his own i guess if you like it then it's your ride .JMO........Cole

Ufo

Hey PJE, The Olds? looks like a UFO. The Impala 3 light, I like. It would come in handy here, on a dark swamp road some folks just won't dim their lights to oncoming cars. Okay first my high beams, oh, so that don't blind you back, well how bout my super high beams you SOB, take that, hope it burns your retinas out and makes you wreck! It was a dream after all. HA olnolan

Those early 60s Olds and Pontiacs are the ugliest group of cars ever produced!

LMAO! But oh so true. I kind of like the first pic, very unique. For some reason I think Riviera when I see it, maybe some more touching, Like more of a peaked and pointy hood. Take out the center section of the bumper?

Funny you should say that, that is the first impression I got too. Boat tail Rivs, '60 Buicks, '59 Caddys are my all time favorite sled rides. The old Fisher Body Craftsman coming out in me! Give me a car with some STYLING.

That is a 59 Olds-------not early 60s

Actually---more done to that car than what is noticed at first glance.

That car appears to have started life as a 2-dr SEDAN.
Windshield and sideglass waaay too tall for a hardtop.

Personally----I like the 59 Olds., Pont., Caddy. Buick---nope, not liking those until 61&62
